2012 Survival Guide

by

2012online.org

This Guide survival is intended as a basic introduction on how to prepare and react to events that may occur during the years prior to 21 December 2012. These skills and techniques are provided for informational purposes only and are not intended to take the place of professional survival or first training course aid. Rather, they are intended to increase awareness of the importance of saving the life of the preparation of upcoming events, and survival techniques encourage the investigation of the events that may occur.

For beginners interested in understanding the fundamentals of 21 December 2012 and Earth, changing circumstances, there is unlimited information available from many sources, and advances in knowledge and collaboration have resulted in a growing number of vigilante and people being prepared, although I do not think anything will happen. Still, at least, are ready, and you should too. Even if nothing is going to happen then have large number of provisions for that in the coming years. What if the Earth does not change quickly, and you are not prepared? If you meet minimum requirements for survival through Pole Shift, volcanic eruptions, extreme cold, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, Land shifts, Great Flood, solar radiation and gamma then you are a step in the right direction.

However, there is no substitute for experience in any of these situations extreme, and his reaction in a survival situation depends on their education and training. Always keep in mind that a survival situation mentioned above can happen to you. Be prepared and plan to be a survivor.

For too long term survival "has called to mind the paranoia, and the person living in the forest. However, as we continue on the path to our unknown future, we will not be called "survivors" but "survivors" as we will need every ounce of energy, every thought of our brain, and every inch of muscle to continue our existence on planet Earth. Pages below are for those who may or may not believe what has been predicted, and what history has taught us throughout the year.

Chapter 1: Basics

If you thought about survival, you know that food, water and housing are the foundation of any long-term plan for survival. If you are prepared to offer three points for you and your family, you will be wider than the 90 percent of the population.

Many would say that water is the most important of the three, but we'll see in the order of food, water and shelter. Below are some questions to ask to better understand the specific features that you will need to prepare in your area in the world. (or to be safe, prepare for all)

What natural disasters or extreme conditions it is likely to face in the next four years?

What other disasters or emergencies you may face?

What are the ramifications of each?

What you have now that can be used in any disaster situation?

How much is the minimum for you and your situation survival is the response will have to come up with after reviewing this survival guide, but do not worry we will give a minimum survival generic Pack.

Food

You may be able to survive a couple of weeks or even a month without food, but without food, become weak, susceptible to diseases, sick and unable to perform tasks related to survival. The water may be more critical to survival short term, but it takes every ounce of energy out of harm way, this is why the food is just as important.

Will months and the value of food is enough? Or do you need for a year? 2012 line can not say what is best in your situation, but we suggest that two weeks or more is the minimum for any person in any of these potential survival situations. Why should stock up on food as if the worst is thinking about preparing for a just a little unusual?

Several reasons:

It may take a while for shops to be replaced especially when we come to 21 December 2012. Think of a big storm hit the area, there were enough supplies for everyone? Now imagine a country whole or even the world that need the same materials. Now there's a problem.

You may be asked to food friends or neighbors.

You may or may not be protected from price gouging.

You need to be prepared for a devastating blow to our supply system food.

You will need a food supply existing and future food supply

Your existing reservation food should not include food in your refrigerator or freezer, because they can not count on other edible items for more than a day (refrigerator) or three (freezer) at most.

Reviewing their existing foods in your cabinets will tell you how much to add to ensure you have enough food for one week. A food storage tip is generally canned items (including items in jars) or dry food. Check our list of commercial products and their times storage, when he suggested that staff compose a list, but takes into account your family's eating habits, likes and dislikes. Also, remember that you do not can have access to electricity, so choose foods and packages can be prepared in a single burner camp stove, or even over an open fire.

Food Rotation

The main difference between commercially prepared foods you buy at the grocery store and the specially prepared "survival foods" is the storage platform. You can not store items in the grocery store five to ten years, as you can with a special frozen, dried or canned foods sealed nitrogen or vacuum sealed. You need to rotate your articles, either continuously or every two or three months. This will ensure you have fresh food (if you can consider canned and dry food "fresh") and do not waste food and money.

As a general rule, traditional canned foods should be consumed within a year. For cans with expiration dates, such as soup Campbell's, you may find you have 18 months or two years before they expire. Cans, without a date, or a code mark with the date of purchase and make sure you eat with them before a passing year.

Survival Food

Simple cooking materials such as flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, oil and grease can be active in a survival situation. For long term storage survival, honey stores for the year and can replace sugar in recipes. Instead of storing flour or meal, purchase the raw grain and a hand mill. Then you can mill their own flour as necessary. Red winter wheat, gold wheat, corn and other grains can be buy in lots of 45 pounds packed in bags filled with nitrogen and shipped in plastic buckets large.

Long-term storage is divided into several categories:

Envasados vacuum drying and freeze-dried foods

Nitrogen Packed cereals and legumes

Specially prepared and sealed foods such as MRE (meals ready to eat) with a platform of five to ten years - Life

All offer one main advantage: the long storage life. Some, such as MRE and packages sold to backpackers, are a complete. This is very handy and convenient, but tend to be expensive in terms of each meal. As its name implies, MRE are ideal for quick, nutritious, easy preparing food. They are convenient to carry in the car, on a trip or on a walk. They have a long useful life (which may be extended by placing a case in the refrigerator or two parts). On the negative side, they are very expensive for every meal basis and does not provide, as fodder than you need. (This can lead to problems digestive, if you plan to live in them for over a week or two). Large canned goods, moreover, are difficult to transport. But if you are supplying his retirement from the survival or the intention to close the hatches and stay home canned products are easy to store large and can keep you well fed during months.

Remember though, if you have four people in your family or group survival, buying a one-year supply food only equates to three months worth for the family. 2012 Online recommends buying the largest set of these canned, dehydrated foods your budget can handle. Then fill the group with items tailored to you and your family or group survival. You may also want to add some special elements, such as candy or desserts, to reward himself or quick energy.

While on the topic of supplements, do not forget to add vitamins and supplements minerals. Fruits, vegetables and other items high in vitamin C and other nutrients may be scarce, so a good multivitamin is well worth the space it occupies in hiding.

Home Made Survival Food

You can try to drying, vacuum-packing and other food preparation for storage. Vacuum pumps are commercially available or can be built at home. You can use them to seal dry foods in glass jars and other containers.

When packing food for storage, you want to remove oxygen. Errors, as weevils, and other organisms that can destroy food needs oxygen to live. That's why commercial firms that prepare survival food pack grains, cereals, pasta, beans and other food into containers filled with nitrogen. You can achieve similar packaging itself through the use of dry ice.

Simply take 10 pounds of noodles (or rice or 25 pounds of dry food) to be picked in the warehouse and put them in a suitably sized plastic bucket with a lid that can create a good seal. Then add chunks of dry ice several. As it sublimates, the bucket is filled with carbon dioxide, which will displace all or most of the oxygen (because the carbon dioxide is heavier, oxygen must rise to the top and outside of the cube). Put the lid on the bucket, but do not seal all the way until the ice has become completely dry gas. Remember, as soon as you open the cube in the air becomes

The hunting and gathering in the Wild

It's time to look to nature to help feed you. That's fine if you have acres of arable land that was not destroyed. But if not, whether it's too late, have to resort to hunting, trapping and gathering.

If you can identify wild plants that can supplement your existing diet, good for you. If not, better go buy some guide books immediately. Get with the photos, you the need. If you are a hunter, can you imagine what the review of local forest would be like if everyone's dinner depended on hunting? The speed with which the strip of this continent grocery whole time? Planning on fishing? So everyone else.

Tip - Always drink while eating, the body loses too much water while digestion. If you do not have water to drink - DO NOT EAT!

Water

As mentioned earlier, water is probably the most necessary element for human life, except oxygen.

When planning your water for survival you need to address three areas:

Storing water

Finding or obtaining water

Water purification

Water storage

For your cache in the home or survival stash, you must have two gallons of water per person per day. While this is more water than necessary for survival ensures water is available for hygiene and cooking and drinking.

Packaging Trade gallon filtering / purified spring water often have an expiration date two years after the date of bottling. A good rotation program is necessary to ensure water remains fresh and drinkable (see previous chapter on food for information on the rotation).

If you prefer to save their own water, do not use milk containers, it is virtually impossible to remove residual milk. If you have a spare refrigerator in the basement or garage, use water bottles (the type of soda or liters of water come in) to fill any available freezer space. Besides providing with fresh, easily transportable potable water, ice can be used to cool foods in the refrigerator in case of a blackout. Self-storage of large quantities of water, you're probably better with containers of at least 5 gallons. From food grade plastic containers for storage are commercially available in sizes from five gallons to 250 or more. Containers with handles and spikes are usually five to seven gallons, weighing between 40 and 56 pounds.

A 15 gallon and 30 gallon container used for service food as the delivery of syrups to soda bottlers and other manufacturers are often available on the surplus market. After proper cleaning, these are ideal for water storage, provided that a tight seal can be maintained. 55-gallon drums and larger tanks are also useful for storing long term, but make sure you have a good pump. Solutions designed to be added to water to prepare it for the long-term storage are commercially available. Bleach can also be used as a last resort for treating water from municipal sources. Added at a rate of about 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons bleach can ensure that water remains potable.

Once you're in a survival situation, where there is a limited amount of water, conservation is an important consideration. While drinking water is critical, water is also needed to replenish moisture and dry food to cook. The water boil pasta, cooking vegetables and similar sources can and should be kept and drunk after it has cooled. Canned vegetables also contain liquid that can be consumed. To conserve water, save water from washing hands, clothes and dishes to flush toilets.

Short-Term Storage

People who have electric pumps drawing water from their well, have learned the lesson of filling all the pots and pans available, when a storm is approaching. What would you do if you knew that your water supply be interrupted in an hour?

Here are some options besides fill the pots and pans:

The easiest option is to put two or three heavy bags garbage duty (to avoid the post with recycled content) inside each other. Then fill the inner bag with water. You can even use the garbage can give structure to the bag. Fill your bathtub almost to the top. While you may not want to drink this water, which can be used for toilets, washing hands, etc. If you are at home, a good amount of water will stored in water pipes and the like. To access this water, you must first close the valve to the outside as soon as possible. This will prevent water from running out of the downward pressure throughout the system and prevent polluted water from entering his house. Then open a faucet on the top floor. This will allow air into the system to a vacuum that does not keep water in can then open a faucet in the basement. The gravity should allow the water pipes running to leave the tap running. Can repeat this procedure for systems of cold and heat. Your hot water heater will also have a lot of water inside. You can access this water valve at the bottom. Again, you may need to turn on a tap elsewhere in the house to ensure good water flow.

To find or obtain water

There are certain climates and geographic locations where to find water or be extremely easy or almost impossible. You have to take into account their location when reading the following.

Wherever you live, your best option to find a water source is to explore suitable locations and procure the necessary equipment before an emergency happens. With proper preparation, you should know not only the location of the nearest streams, springs or water sources, but some specific places where it would be easy to fill a container and the surest way to get home. It also means preparing for a system having at hand easily installed to collect rainwater. This can range from large tarps or plastic sheeting to a system for collecting runoff from your roof or gutters. Once

you have identified a water source, you need to have bottles or containers ready for transport or store.

Purification

The purified water can not make you sick, possibly even killing. In a survival situation, with little or no attention care available, you need to stay as healthy as possible. Boiling is the best method to purify tap water to collect from natural sources. Not required no chemicals or expensive equipment, all you need is a large pot and a fire or similar heat source. Boil for 20 to 30 minutes should kill the bacteria common, such as Guardia and Cryptosporidium. Please note that boiling water does not remove foreign contaminants such as radiation or heavy metals.

Commercial purification / filter devices made by companies such as polyurethane are the best options. They range in size filters small pump designed for backpackers to filters designed for large fields around. Probably the best filtering device for the survival of the retreats are the model in which water is poured at the top and let it slowly seep through the media in a tank at the bottom. No pumping required. On the down side, most of these filtering devices are expensive and have limited capacity. The filters are good for anywhere from 200 liters to thousands of gallons, depending on the size of the filter and the mechanism. Some filters used fiberglass and activated charcoal. Others use impregnated with resin or ceramic elements.

The other chemical additives are often less suitable option. Water purification tablets sold to hikers and campers have a limited lifespan, especially once the bottle has been opened.

Pour-though filtering systems can do in an emergency. Here's an example that will eliminate many pollutants:

Take a five or seven gallon bucket (a 55-gallon drum can also be used for a larger scale system) and drill or punch a series of small holes in the bottom.

Place several layers of cloth in the bottom of the bucket, this can be anything from denim with an old tablecloth.

Add a thick layer of sand (preferred) or loose dirt. This will be the main filtering element, which should add at least half the depth of the cube.

Add another few layers of cloth, loaded with a few large rocks.

Your landlord of the filter should be several inches below the top the cube.

Place bucket or other collection device under the holes drilled in the bottom.

Pour collected or collection water on top of your new filter system. How the gravity, water filtered through the media and leakage of the bottom in the sampling device. If water is cloudy or full of sediment, just dropped it on the bottom and draw cleaner water from the top of the device collection with a straw or tube.

(If you have a stash of charcoal, possibly acquired from a distributor of aquarium, you can put an inner layer of this filter. Place a layer of fabric above and below all charcoal. This will remove other contaminants and reduce any unpleasant smell or taste).

While this system can not be the best purification method has been used successfully in the past. For rainwater or water obtained from what appear to be relatively clean current water sources, the system should work fine. If you have no water source, but a puddle contaminated runoff from the highway or the source of contaminated oil similar, the filter may be better than nothing.

Housing

Often when we think housing, we thought our house either protection or emergency, such as a shed built from cut branches.

In many situations survival, it may come as close to home. If you do not have to evacuate, may be better at home, even if power is off or the storm is threatening. Remember that your bug-out bag is essential, the survival of hiding in the home should have enough food and water for weeks or even months.

If are at home or in the vicinity for a natural disaster, your first course of action should be to determine where it will be safer. If you choose not to evacuate, you should then he worked on making their current residence as safe as possible. In many cases, this means moving in the basement or other protected part of the house. In an apartment or condominium, your best bet will probably be an interior room without windows or even the basement of the apartment complex.

Although many find that no house, friend, family apartment or house is the easiest and most cost effective home security, home security or definitive withdrawal of survival would be a second home located in a very rural area. During normal times, this withdrawal of survival can double as their vacation home, hunting or target of weekend getaway. But When the index rises, you can evacuate to a safe house fully equipped with everything you need to self-sufficiency.

Safe Home should be:

Well off the beaten track, ideally accessible by a single dirt road. This isolation will offer a good dose of protection. For example, you can cut a large tree down across the road to help remove unwanted guests.

About a spring, well, river or other natural water source.

Equipped with at least one fireplace or wood stove for cooking and heating.

Within 10 to 20 miles of a village or small town where you can go (by foot if necessary) for additional supplies, news and other contacts with the outside world, Emergency on the stretch months or more.

Enough arable land to grow their own vegetables and other crops.

About a natural, easily exploitable source of food (usually wildlife for hunting or fishing).

Provision of Food enough to keep your family safe for at least three months, preferably a year.

Provisioned with the necessary tools for self-sufficiency long term, if necessary.

Stocked with enough weapons and ammunition to defend from small groups of marauding invaders, if come to that.

If you're concerned about caching products in a home unattended, where they could be stolen, you can cache a source close. Although most deposits are buried in hidden places, a simple solution to this dilemma is to rent a unit commercial storage in a nearby village with his resignation. This has several advantages:

While you have access to the facility 24 hours a day (one stores outside areas where they use their own padlock is best) you can reach your kit when necessary.

It will be much easier to make a few trips to and from the storage facility near his home and safer than carrying around with you from home.

Indeed easy to check the status and add materials to such a cache buried in an isolated place.

In the worst case, can walk the conservation area, spend the night inside and rises again the next day with a backpack full.

Of course, for ultimate protection, ingrown toenail or other hidden cache is hard to beat. He is especially true for long term storage of ammunition and weapons that are or may one day be considered illegal.

Chapter 2: Beyond Basic

Based on the previous section, you must have a good idea of the potential survival situations that may be facing. Now the question is whether to stay and face them or move to a safer place.

In the first sign of problems and rising prices, visit local food store and grocery stores and buy whatever you can afford. Get bags of 50 lbs of rice and 25 bags of flour. Use your credit cards and part of his hiding emergency cash if needed.

Hunker down at home and protect what is yours.

Keeping a low profile and avoid contact with others except the other members of their group survival. Prevent problems and confrontations.

Hope that within six months, the country has recovered or at least stabilized. If not, people will probably be much less when this is over.

We all have a strong desire to protect ours. Fortunately, there are times to stay at home makes more sense. If you can wait until the events of 21 December 2012 at his home, Batten the hatches and stay at home can be your best option. There are many advantages to staying at home in a survival situation, if you can do so safely:

The food in your refrigerator and pantry can complement their survival Stash (see previous chapter).

Releasing the power, you can quickly cook much food and freezer temperature control (frozen food will remain at least 24 hours).

You have more time to improve chances of survival home (move items to higher ground as wood windows, etc)

Provides shelter against most elements *.

You can access all their clothing, bedding and other amenities.

You do not suffer from boredom as much as possible in a shelter.

You can protect your stuff from looters.

Of course, there is a downside as well:

You can get in unnecessary mortal danger. (The polar change, floods, hurricanes, riots, asteroids, etc. volcano could be worse than expected).

You will be without heat, electricity, hot water and other services.

You may feel isolated and alone.

* Will not protect against radiation

When a disaster at home is not the only option.

In a large building, you can expect a security force probably be smart enough to lock the doors and take steps to prevent access to the building by a crowd. If you think the building is being overrun by protesters, pull the fire alarm. This will result in all the lifts that reminded the room and not again until that are reset.

In his floor or in your room, bar the door, check your personal weapon and, if enough people present, appoint some people to stand guard. If you are alone on the floor, or there are squatters in the building, find a good hiding place.

Shopping malls, restaurants fast food and other public buildings may also offer some protection in case disaster strikes, but could be the target of looting, so you want to avoid. In a serious survival situation, you need to watch out for your immediate family. So if you're trying to leave the city in an emergency and your car breaks down, Who is to blame for breaking into the empty house and finding refuge? In a life or death, property crime is the least of their worries.

No matter how much you want to stay home, there are times when evacuation is the only option. These include an asteroid, tsunami, nuclear or biological event, and any impending disaster that could destroy your home. So, if survival situations shown in the previous section show various emergency situations requiring evacuation, a plan must:

Evacuation Plan

There are several important elements in your evacuation plan:

Where to go

Getting There

What to bring with you

Sure, you can contact the nearest shelter, but if sitting on cots in the gymnasium of the school Local or National Guard Armory was his first choice, probably would not be reading this.

You need a safe house or withdrawal of survival in a place where the current crisis does not threaten. The easiest way to create a safe house is the coordination with a friend or family member located between 100 and 150 miles away, preferably in a different environment. For example:

If you are in the downtown, should be rural area, or at least a smaller town, preferably on the outskirts of the city

If you are near the coast, should be by

If you're near a flood plain, the safe house must be on higher ground.

Following these guidelines, you are relatively safe several things:

Whatever we face disaster should not affect them, and vice versa. This allows you to operate outside, so when faced a survival situation, your home can be your safe house.

If you plan ahead, you can make some changes of old clothes, a kit toiletries, necessary medicines, munitions, some MRE or anything else you may need in the safe house. This makes it easier to evacuate.

Chapter 3: Disaster

Floods

The best way to prevent damage to flooding is to move before one occurs. Seriously, do not live in a floodplain unless there is another option. If you learned anything in the last decade is due floods can and do occur in lowland areas believed safe. Rivers and streams rise to record levels, rate of relaxation, and there are only specific for the earth too to absorb all the rain.

If you are trapped in a flood, follow your instincts and move to higher ground as possible. Exercise caution when traveling, because there is plenty of water to float a car or truck.

Earthquakes

The old advice to walk in a door or hiding in the closet or under a table is better than running around panic, and just may save your life. If you live in a land area earthquake prone, prepare for it, ensuring your home meets current building regulations and you have plenty of food and water stored.

If you live through the earthquake within minutes, and your house has not collapsed, the greatest damage may be yet to come. Broken gas lines can cause fires and home be convicted, leaving people homeless. Contingency Plan as having a plastic (non-sparking) wrench available to turn off the main gas and includes a package of three good morning, including a tent.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes are one of the few disasters for which we can anticipate some warning. If your house is near the coast and the surfing is a growing threat, or seem to be in the direct course of the hurricane, you may be better to evacuate to higher ground. Whether or not choose to evacuate, tremendous structural damage may be caused by objects thrown through the windows. Once a window is open, the power of hurricane can actually fly the roof top of the structure!

To protect yourself and your property, the windows should be covered with plywood or hurricane shutters to trade. 2012 Online recommends shutters, made of polycarbonate resistant and allows light to enter the window, unlike their counterparts in steel and aluminum. Garage doors should also be strengthened and the door between the garage and the house itself should be closed and secured.

Hurricanes cause damage in many forms: high winds, floods, downed trees and utility poles electricity and storm surges. The farther into the land of their location, the less power that the hurricane will have on the time it reaches you, so choose location carefully.

If you decided to stay home, you should choose an interior room without windows. If you plan far enough advance can be strengthened 2x6 boardroom or otherwise of building a cage to protect the fallen trees and sunken in the walls or other damage the storm. Move what survival supplies will be in the room, especially a battery power of light and radio.

Tornadoes

While tornadoes can not be predicted as soon as the hurricanes, the current technology of weather forecasting often tell us when weather conditions are suitable for training. By sticking around the house during a tornado warning, you can help protect themselves Tornadoes can cause great damage.

A direct hit from a tornado can turn a house into a pile of wooden sticks, throwing a minivan around of trees as a tumbleweed and down faster than Paul Bunyon. So if you live in an area prone to tornadoes, it may be prudent to invest in a shelter underground wing Wizard of Oz. (You can use it as a basement or nuclear survival shelter.)

If you live in an area not known to tornadoes, but suddenly you're teaching about yourself, your next best option is the basement, preferably in the corner closest to the direction of the tornado.

If you are driving around and a tornado is approaching, the park under an underpass and run as high as you can under it. If caught in the head open land for as low as possible, including a drainage ditch is better than nothing.

Fire (s)

If a house fire may have to go out in dark and difficult conditions. Escape a fire will be much easier if you have already planned your escape route and know where to go. Make sure that your planned escape route remains free of obstructions and that no loose floor coverings that could trip you. Everybody in the house should be aware of the escape route

It only takes a moment of carelessness or neglect of a fire to start. A couple of minutes later and your home or around the earth could be filled with smoke. The smoke and fumes can kill, in particular the highly poisonous smoke from some furnishings. You only have a short time to exit. Use it wisely and not panic.

If you can do so safely, shut the door to the room where the fire is started and close all other doors behind you. This will help to delay spread smoke.

Before opening a closed door, use the back of his hand to touch it. Do not open, if you feel warm, fire can be on the other side.

Get everyone as quickly as possible. Do not try to pick up valuables or possessions, but what their need for survival.

Make your way out as safely as possible and try not to panic.

It will help if you have planned your escape route instead of waiting until there is a fire.

What if you are cut off by fire

This is not easy, but try to remain calm. Save your energy to help survive

If leave is prevented because of the flames or smoke, near the entrance nearest the fire and use towels or sheets to block any gaps. This will help stop the spread of smoke in the room.

Go to the window. If the room goes up in smoke, down to ground level - it is easier to breathe because the smoke will rise upwards.

If you are in immediate danger and your room is not too high from the ground, drop cushions or bedding to the ground to halt the slide of the window.

Get feet first and descend to the length of his arms before falling.

Wilderness Fire

If you are caught in a storm of fire danger, your best option is to find a source of water and stay near it. Go below ground if possible, but it is necessary to make an escape if the fire changes course. With any fire situation, you always have to know evacuation routes and plans have a backup.

Volcanic Eruption

Rock Note the center of the earth is molten, and a volcanic eruption can occur almost anywhere, but there is little an individual can do to prepare for a volcanic eruption. Be aware of the dangers that can come with a rash: the debris, hot gases, lava flows, and potential areas of explosions, landslides, avalanches, and geothermal. Prepare supplies, water, food, blankets and medical supplies, if you live around a volcano before something happens.

Also be prepared to get up and outrun flowing lava.

Be careful when around or near of active volcanoes.

Do not venture into any activity, and consult local experts in the area.

Following all the recommendations, regulations, or requests of staff.

Here are some things to watch out for:

Lava flows - Stay away from the lava flows. Not all of them are red hot and clear, and some move very slowly and appear as dark and solid, but is liquid under the surface. Also, do not try to cross an active flow, you can be trapped by multiple lava flows.

Pyroclastic flow - No visit volcanoes who have or are about to be pyroclastic explosions. The maximum temperature of the volcano of this type can be one's own life in danger.

The volcanic domes - volcanic domes and craters plugs may seem harmless, but they may explode without warning. Jogging and crystalline rocks can also be very dangerous. Some of cooled lava of this type may resemble irregular pieces of glass. Wear hiking boots solid in the mountains - Never walk barefoot. Be sure of his way.

Avalanches and floods - Be careful when crossing lahars (debris flows), so they can sprout in small and large floods.

Gases - Avoid areas where volcanic gas is released. Carbon sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide can kill quickly and silently. It may not be able to hold their breath long enough. If you see a place around an active volcano with dead vegetation, carcasses, or bones, will not come in it.

Geothermal areas - hot springs, mud pots and geysers are also very interesting, but do not go through areas unexplored containing many of them. Stay on marked paths, because the thin silica crusts over boiling pools can break if stepped on. If you falls in, can potentially cause third degree burns or even death.

Before an eruption occurs:

Find out if volcanic hazards in the area which may affect you.

If you live in a volcanically active region, provided suggesting that it may have to deal with the effects of an eruption.

If you live in an area that could experience a lava flow during the eruption volcanic know a quick route to a safe place.

If volcanologists agree that a life-threatening eruption is likely to have Instead, a civil defense emergency will be declared and the danger area evacuated. Listen to radio or television, if it works, for information.

During an eruption:

Saving water in your bath, basin, containers or bottles at an early stage - supplies may become polluted.

Stay indoors as much as possible.

The mask and goggles if you go outside, to keep volcanic ash was their eyes and lungs.

Take your outdoor clothing before entering a building, volcanic ash is difficult to get rid of it.

Take your Getaway Kit with you if you must leave. Turn electricity and gas off the grid. If active-gas, that a professional check for leaks in case of damage before passing the gas again.

Kept below ridge lines in hilly terrain, the hills offer some protection against debris volcanic.

A good pre-planned emergency plan in mind this possibility and offer alternative routes.

Near Earth Objects (NEO)

A reasonably large asteroid of 200 meters (600 feet) in diameter crashed into the Atlantic Ocean could generate a tsunami (a tidal wave), which would plunge Britain and throughout the East Coast of the United States concerned minutes. If an asteroid of at least 1 kilometer in size collide with Earth would cause a cloud of dust that block sunlight for at least a year and lead to a depth of around the world, the winter food supply exhausting.

So this threat is real, but the chances of a mile NEO (3,000 feet) long, hitting the Earth soon are virtually 1-100. Yet you do not need a contingency plan if this would happen. Impact tests is around us. But we will focus on smaller asteroids hire in this section, because if there was a massive asteroid towards us we would be given early warning (hopefully).

So what do

For a land impact, one can say that an object about 75 meters (225 feet) in diameter can probably destroy a city and a 160 meter (480 foot) object can be destroy a large urban area. If waiting for a meteor shower, stay tuned to local government officials and monitor the sky.

The impacts of small objects is almost impossible to predict the impact of area

If you live near a cave system, you may want to go and establish a temporary refuge there, or if you live in the city, go to the lowest point of the building (in case of emergency, but not recommended due to the collapse of a building is possible). Other possibilities are:

Fallout shelters

Steel structures

Subway systems

No:

Stay outside during a meteor storm

Stay on top of buildings

Go to the remains of the Meteor

Whenever your survival stash available

Extreme Cold

While people die in their homes due to cold weather, these deaths are often caused by kerosene heaters or other sources of heat. Fire is a danger with any secondary heat source, including wood stoves, fireplaces, kerosene, propane and electric heaters, but can be handled to reduce fire risks. Carbon monoxide poisoning is a concern that must be considered when using non-traditional sources of heat, such as collecting all the gas oven and opening the door.

Another danger is to freeze to death if the power fails. People often think that will be OK because they have a gas or oil furnace. This is a fallacy, because the gas furnace you need an electric fan to move hot air through home, while even the oil furnace probably has an electric starter and / or fuel pump.

A secondary source of heat is important, and wood stoves are probably the most efficient. While sending fire places much of the heat from the stack they share with the wood stoves advantages of being able to find all fuels around you, from books to furniture. (Let's face it, most have too much garbage in our homes, anyway.) Also You can cook in a hurry, and when the storm is howling at his home, a cup of hot chocolate tastes twice as good and restore the spirits.

Kerosene and propane heaters can also be put in an emergency BTU, but probably require ventilation (see manufacturer's literature for details).

One key to keeping warm with these back-up heat source is not trying to heat the entire shelter. Assemble everything you think you might need in a unique and close it. Use any blankets can do without most of the openings, if necessary to reduce drafts. Gather under their quilts and share the warmth of your body.

If you are in open terrain, a snow cave will provide a good shelter. Find a drift and burrow a tunnel side about 60 cm (24 inches) and then build your camera. The tunnel entrance should lead to the lowest level of the chamber where the kitchen and storage teams will be. At least two ventilation holes are needed, preferably one on the roof and another on the door.

Extreme Heat

Prepare in advance for the hottest days that may come. Freezing gallons of water in large blocks of ice if you have a large freezer (as seen in previous chapters). Refilling water bottles, plastic liter with cold tap water and well. The largest of the ice blocks with longer it will take to melt when you need to get a gallon size containers if you have the space in the freezer. These blocks of ice can be used to cool a fragile, placing a thick towel in a shallow container and fanning the air with a hand fan over the ice and people on the head and neck area. They can also be used by wrapping them in a pillowcase and place in whole head, in the armpit area and in the groin area. Be extremely careful not to allow the ice in contact with skin. Place several layers of material between the skin and the ice to avoid frostbite and checking every few minutes to make sure they are not the freezing of tissues.

The Symptoms of dehydration

This is very important to recognize the symptoms of dehydration first and act before your state becomes serious. The following are common early symptoms of dehydration:

Fatigue

Dark urine with a strong odor

Low urine output

Emotional instability

Delay of capillary refill in fingernail beds

The loss of skin elasticity

Trench line down the center of the tongue

Sed

Avoid overheating

When you overheat, your body starts to sweat. This can be good, because naturally the body is trying to cool itself, but too much sweat overtime waste of precious water supply. Always adjust your clothing so that you do not worry too much. Open your jacket a little or remove an inner layer of clothing.

Wear loose clothing

Do not expose your body directly sun

Protect your head

Finding time to rest in a shaded area

If you are wearing clothing too tight, can restrict blood circulation. It can also decrease the volume of air between the layers, which reduces the value of cooling.

Solar Radiation

On Earth, the solar radiation is obvious as daylight when the sun is above the skyline. This is during the day, and also in summer near the poles at night, but not all in the winter near the poles. When radiation Direct is not blocked by clouds, is experienced as the sun, the combination of the perception of bright white light (sunlight in the strict sense) and warming. Warming in the body and the surfaces of other objects are characterized by an increase in air temperature.

Increased sunlight could happen here on Earth, and you have to do whatever it takes to stay out of the sun during the day. If there is a possible Red / Brown Dwarf sunlight can be amplified ten times that the object approaches the Earth.

So what do

Above, make sure to stay out of direct sunlight, or if you are warming to the skin immediately you need to seek shelter. This will not protect you fully, but lowered the amount of radiation you receive.

For your home, preferably a structure or underground cave help with the defense

Put on PPE if you need to venture out during the day (see next chapter)

Polar Investment / Shift

In coming years, the polar reversal will take place on earth. This could possibly means that the North Pole becomes the South Pole and from south to north. Science can only be explained by the fact that the earth begins to rotate in the opposite direction, together with a huge disaster of unknown proportions. Or at the poles could actually change positions a few miles it could still cause unwanted disasters.

View previous disasters that would be caused by this change (minus the asteroids)

Riot / Civil Disaster

After a disaster, you can take to protect your home and belongings from looters. Clear, they probably March to the National Guard, but as the police, who can not be everywhere all the time. Just as you are taking responsibility for his survival by reading this guide, you must assume the responsibility to protect themselves from human predators.

Tsunami

A tsunami is a series of destructive and dangerous waves resulting from seismic activity or some other kind of underwater disturbance (meteorite, landslides, underwater volcanic activity, etc). In order to survive a tsunami, you should be prepared, alert and calm.

His risk if:

Your home, school or workplace is in a coastal region near the sea

Elevation from home, school or workplace is at sea level or fairly low and the floor

land or only slightly elevated. If you do not know the elevation level of your home, school or workplace, find out

There are warning signs indicating that your area is prone to tsunamis

His home, school, buildings, etc. workplace are not resistant to tsunamis

Prepare in advance. If the investigation proves that you are at risk, prepare an evacuation plan and survival of hiding.

Natural warnings can help indicate the imminent arrival of a tsunami. Note that in many cases, these warnings can be obtained only in the coming years. Being self-responsible and keep you and your family, friends and colleagues security. The natural signs that announce the possibility of a tsunami coming include:

An earthquake: If you live in a coastal area (by sea) the occurrence of an earthquake must be immediate cause for alarm and evasive action.

Rumbling under the ground: Even if no real "earthquake", but you can perceive considerable noise under the earth, heed this warning.

A rapid rise and fall of coastal waters. If suddenly sea away, exposing the sand, this is an important warning sign that it will not be a sudden increase in the backwaters.

Watch of animals from one area or abnormal behavior, like trying to find shelter or group human in ways that would not normally do.

Take action

If a tsunami is likely to make landfall in the coastal area, to react immediately. Implement the evacuation plan.

Move immediate movement of the coast, lakes or other bodies of water near the coast is essential.

Head inside: This means going to a more high, even in the hills or mountains.

Up high: If you can head inside, as they are caught, your head up. Although not ideal, if this is your only option, choose a tall, sturdy and solid and climb it. Go as high as possible, even on the ceiling or resistant trees.

React quickly if you are stranded in the water. If you did not evacuate but caught in the tsunami, there are things you can do to try to survive:

Grab anything that floats

Abandon Belongings

Keep away at least half a day, if not more. A tsunami comes in waves

Try to obtain reliable

A good pre planned emergency plan should consider this possibility and offer alternative routes. Log Mode survival and be prepared for anything that might happen, not lower our guard.

Electricity Shortage

We have lived without in the past, and we can live without it now.

That's easy to say when they rely so heavily on the use electricity. We only make life much easier, so that in the event of a disaster and after having reached a safe haven, it is time to review the concepts core.

Generators are a good way to provide energy, but very hard to bear and relies on natural resources may or may not be readily available. So you should plan for the worst, breaking the games.

Alien Invasion

At the time of this survival guide was written, no information on how to maintain their existence, if the foreign invaders were presented to the visit. That said, 2012 Online recommends hiding.

Chapter 4: How

Fire

The ability to build and how to make a fire can make the difference between life and death in a survival situation. Making fire is one of the most important survival skills. You must practice and learn different methods on how to start a fire in any place and under any condition.

Several needs:

A fire can meet various needs. You can stay warm and dry. It can be used to cook food, purify water, sterilize bandages. It can scare the dangerous animals and their smoke can keep flying insects at bay.

To make a fire you have to understand that there are three components needed: air, heat and fuel. The correct ratio of these components is very important for a fire to burn to their greater ability to

Preparation

You have to decide what site and the willingness to use. Before building a fire in mind:

The area (terrain and climate) in which they are operating

The materials and tools available

Time: how long has

Need: Why you need a fire

Security, do you want unwanted attention

Find a dry place:

Is protected from the wind

It is conveniently located in relation to your home (if applicable)

It will concentrate the heat in the direction you want

Have a supply of wood or other fuel available

If you are in a forest or brush covered area, clear the brush and scrape the soil surface from the point that you selected. Clear a circle at least 1 meter in diameter, so there is little chances of fire spreading. If time permits, the construction of a wall of fire with logs or rocks. This wall will help direct the heat reflector, when you desired. It will also reduce flying sparks and reduce the amount of wind blowing on the fire. However, it will have enough strength to keep the fire burning. In some situations, you may find that an underground fireplace will best meet your needs. It conceals the fire and serves well for cooking food. To make an underground fireplace:

Digging a hole in the ground.

Power on the upwind side of this hole, push or dig a bigger hole for ventilation.

Starting the fire in the hole

Battery

Use a battery to generate a spark. Use of this method depends on the type of battery available. Connect one wire to each terminal. Tap the ends of bare wires together next to the tinder for the sparks on.

Flint and Steel

The direct spark method is the easiest of the methods primitive to use. The flint and steel is the most reliable methods of direct ignition. A strike of stone or other hard, sharp rock edge with a piece of carbon steel (stainless steel produces a spark not good). This method requires a loose wrist articulated and implemented. When a spark has caught in the tinder, blow on it. The spark spread and burst into flames.

Fire-Plow

The fire-plow is a method of frictional ignition. Rub a hardwood shaft against a softer wood base. To use this method, make a straight groove in the base and plow the blunt end of an axle up and down the slot. The plowing action of the shaft pushes small particles of wood fibers. Then, as more pressure is put on every shot, friction ignites the wood particles.

Refuges

If you are not about structures and their survival shelter, or if not safe, temporary shelter may be raised up in the desert. A small shelter which is insulated from the less protected from the elements and contains a fire is very important in your survival situation. Before building your shelter be sure that the surrounding area provides the materials to build a good fire, and a good source of water.

Wildlife Refuges may include:

1. Natural shelters such as caves and overhanging cliffs. By exploring a possible shelter, tie a piece of string to the external mouth of the cave to make sure they will be able to find the output. Note that these caves may already be occupied. If you use a cave for Housing, build your fire near its mouth to prevent animals from entering.

2. Enlarge the natural pit under a fallen tree and line of tree bark or branches of

3. Near a rocky coastal area, build a shelter of U-shaped stone that covers the roof of driftwood and a tarp or even seaweed for protection

First Help

If an accident occurs in the desert, you are responsible for dealing with the situation. The specific sequence of actions when it is this situation is as follows:

Remain calm, providing your patient with the silent treatment, first aid efficient

Keep the person warm and lying down. Do not move the injured person until they have discovered the extent of injuries

Start mouth to mouth resuscitation immediately if the person is not breathing

Stop any bleeding

Watch carefully for signs of shock

Check for cuts, fractures, breaks and injuries to the head, neck or spine

Do not let people crowd the injured person

Do not remove clothing unless it is essential

Decide if the person can be transferred to an appropriate medical facility. If this is not possible, prepare an appropriate room in which they are provided shelter, warmth and food

Shock

Shock is a depression of all bodily processes and may follow any injury regardless of how minor. Factors such as bleeding, cold and the pain will intensify shock. When experiencing shock the patient feels weak and faint. The skin becomes cold and clammy and the pulse weak and rapid. Shock can be more severe than the injury itself.

Use the following method to prevent and control the discharge:

1. If no Injuries to the head or chest, place the patient on his back with his head and chest lower legs. This will help the circulation of blood to the brain, heart, lungs and other organs.

2. If severe head and chest injuries are present elevate the upper body. If lesions chest, elevate the injured part to assist in the healthy lung function.

3. If the injured person becomes unconscious, place him / her in a prone position to avoid choking on blood, vomit or the tongue.

4. Keep patient warm and protected.

Respiratory arrest

If breathing has stopped, begin mouth-to mouth. Place the patient on his back and follow these steps:

1. To open the airway increase the person's neck and tilting the head back

2. Keep the collar, pinch nose to prevent air leakage

3. Place your mouth completely around the person

About the Author

I have been a firm believer on and off for the past 10 years, and until recently I have not had much thought as to what if... So my turning point was the realization that the Earth goes through cycles (that is what humans can relate to) and this is prevalent throughout our history. Is it possible that the ancient civilizations are all wrong about a cyclic turn of events for our world in the coming years? Yes. With that comes the other side, why would so many people devote their lives to understanding the complex universe that is still indubitably undiscovered today.
