Even if you are not mechanically inclined, there are plenty of things you can do to keep your RV running without problems. A little regular maintenance to help you learn more about your vehicle and anticipate problems before they become failures.

Here are some simple procedures for the maintenance of your RV:

Regular Maintenance

6. For a motorized RV, make regular checks on your oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, anti-freeze, and window cleaner solution.
7. Stock your RV for emergencies, ensuring that there warm clothing, bedding and food and water for several days.

9. Humidity is the worst enemy build an RV's, which can cause stains, freezing or mold growth. The worst producers of moisture accumulation is the shower, bathroom and kitchen in the kitchen. • Water flow from the drain. If necessary, use a coat hanger to break up any sediment that may be blocking the opening.
• Direct high-pressure water from a hose into the drain hole, turning from side to side to stir up the sediment in the tank.
• Remove the hose and let draining the tank.
• Repeat this filling and emptying process with a garden hose until the wash water tank is clean.
• Reinstall the drain plug, turn the water and near the "hot" water taps when water has filled the tank and begins to flow.

Winter storage
Whether Winterize your RV yourself or pay someone to do, these are the steps to store your vehicle for the winter months.

• Unplug all appliances and disconnect the batteries.
• Disconnect the supply lines ice maker water and drain.
• Defrost your refrigerator, if necessary.
• Drain the hot water heater and rinse (see above).
• Once the water is removed from the water system, pump non-toxic RV antifreeze through all lines. You may have to borrow a compressor to do this. Open every faucet until you see the antifreeze that arise from the taps. Add a cup of antifreeze in the sink and shower traps.
• Remove any canned (which can burst if frozen), or food that may attract rodents.
• Double check your antifreeze in the engine cooling system.
• Put some rat poison and remove all beds, or anything that can be used to make a nest.
• To protect from snow or ice damage, cover your RV with a tarp.
