Swarovski Crystals: Anecdotes and Designer Cufflinks

Today, crystals Swarovski, the material of choice for jewelry designers of world class. In 1892, Daniel Swarovski registered a patent for his machine that cut crystal on an industrial scale with greater speed and precision than the manual process. This was the beginning of one of the most sought after crystal production center in the history of art. Daniel Swarovski founded the company in the Alps, named for his family in 1895.

In the late 19th century, glass was regularly used to enhance formal evening wear. glass pieces were actually sewn into formal jackets and dresses. Swarovski took advantage of this trend in fashion and 1913, he created his own crystals exclusively for the fashion industry.

Always the entrepreneur, Swarovski used the storage of cutting machines and materials during World War I to improve their business. For the war effort, Swarovski produces grinding and dressing tools that are used to process glass stone and marketed them under the name of Tyrolit 1917-1919. Until about 1956, Swarovski often using the innovations of its original crystal company by the development of subsidiary companies which provided products for automotive reflector telescopes and the road, and lenses.

A mid-20th century, Swarovski returned the work of jewelry-making and the promotion of specially processed glass to produce glass color effects.
